Christ Church United Methodist was organized in Paterson, New Jersey in 1972. The site chosen for the church was the property of the former Wesley United Methodist Church, located at the corner of 15th Avenue and East 27th Street.
Throughout its history, Christ Church has developed, sponsored and implemented several successful ministries and outreach programs.
In July 2023, the Christ Church family welcomed our new Pastor Reverend Leslie Houseworth. Join us for Sunday Worship Service Summer hours is 10:00 A.M. and Fall through Spring hours will return to 11:00 A.M. service. Our Church Family would love to welcome you whether you are just visiting or looking for a new home church.
The Reverend Leslie Houseworth was raised in Stone Mountain, Georgia. She has served churches in Georgia, South Carolina, New York, and New Jersey. Rev. Houseworth received her Bachelor of Arts in English Education from South Carolina State University. She earned the Master of Education in Administration and Supervision from Clemson University. After working as a high school English teacher, Rev. Houseworth enrolled in the Master of Divinity program at Emory University’s Candler School of Theology. Rev. Houseworth loves to serve. She also enjoys traveling, reading, and spending time with her children, Chloe and CJ.
